err so.... my photography teacher told me to take portraits of people that are inspired by annie leibowitz. well she's a freaking goddess and honestly the queen of portraiture. i tried finding inspiration wherever i could.. so i got an email from the nytimes and i found a picture of Natalie Portman in the Black Swan. my god, it struck me right that millisecond to know that her makeup was my inspiration. i called my best friend stacey over, who btw does not EVER wear makeup so that too was an accomplishment, and did a complete makeover. i took pictures on both my film and digital cameras so i only have the digital pictures right now. i'll post the others later and i'm making a stop motion with all the pictures i took, so look forward to that!

i think i've been sorry enough for not posting at all!

but my birthday passed, things happened, and did what i wanted to do in the summer

sort of.

you know that feeling when you just feel all down without even knowing why? the weather is super nice, your life isn't that bad, but you just don't have that excitement that you once had... or want.

over the summer, i gotta say that i've discovered myself through solitude

i stayed home most of the summer to do prep for school and literally did not breathe outside of my academy, my fencing club, and my house. the only times i took a breath of air was when i was walking around the city, shopping, and taking in that whole city environment. i now know where i want to live and who i want to be. it is not like i've never been that person my entire life, but it was just hidden inside me. i would not say that this summer was a life-changing one at all, but i did experience things i have never felt before. i doubted myself, i thought about life as a whole, and i focused on myself more. in some ways, i do feel quite unsocial, but at this point, i'm sort of immune to it. i'm not even sure if this is supposed to be a good thing or not, but whatever. all in all, i lived my summer through and through. accomplished my goals: made some life long friends, read the classics, shopped somewhat sensibly, visited people and places, had the best birthday, and sort of partied haha. i suffered and lived at the same time, not quite in a good balance, but i will be able to in the future. i will have a better outlook on life from this point on and maintain my daily goal: to be happy.

i never knew how to deal with death, but then again, i never came across it very often. the first time i came across is when my mom told me that her uncle passed away. i met him once, but it didn't really affect me much. then again, i was in 5th grade. the second time, it was last year, my school nurse passed away because she had an aneurysm. those things, you're lucky if you can detect it. it was really quite sudden, but when i found out, i thought about it, but i didn't cry or anything. she was the nicest nurse though; her replacement sucks. all throughout this year, my school has had many deaths occur in their families or friends. i think there were about three funerals that people went to this year, but i didn't know the people who had passed away. and now, today, i pretty much ran into death and then fell down cause i hit him too hard. my aunt passed away last night. last night, i was at my friend's drinking and having fun, little did i know that my uncle and my little 6th grader cousin were devastated. she was sort of a role model when i was younger. she visited me from korea with my cousin and they stayed with us for about 2 -3 months. she taught me just basic school stuff and talked to me about life. i was in 3rd grade back then, and she talked to me as if i were an adult. she was my role model, and now she's gone. i miss you terribly, 숭모

I have been asked to review a product from Lushae Jewelry by Sarah who's a complete sweetheart :) She just basically emailed me if I was willing to review a product from her site and I told her I would and she sent me a coupon code to pick any item in her store, so yes I received this for free. So I ordered my ring on April 20th and I got it April 26th. Pretty fast shipping from a company that's all the way in Australia. So I got this ring, and this is what it looks like on the site.

So I figured that the chain looking part would actually be there, but no... The ring looks pretty different. Instead of chains, it's painted black and the paint goes over the symbols. They also sent me the wrong size; I ordered a size 7, but I got a size 6 instead. My friends compared the ring to the picture and said that they look very different from each other. Other than that, the quality of the metal is quite good. Here is what it looks like:

You can see that it has been painted and not very neatly either. This remotely looks like the ring shown on the site. I cannot say that this is for every product, but there is a chance that it may be.

i love the antique feel to it. i pretty much grew up with this kind of house cause my mom's a antique collector and all. and it's an art studio!

so we had this little art festival at school called Project Ourway

it was absolutely amazing

i felt like i was on an art high afterwards?

haha idk, i felt really light and nice and incredibly inspired

it was spoken word, mini acts, videos, stop motions, and last but not least a fashion portion

i was supposed to help create the fashion pieces, but instead, i promoted the event instead

i didnt really have time to go to stores, pick out clothes and alter them, or completely make things from scratch

you know, theres this thing called lazyness

ha its bad i know, but whatever

my best friend michelle and i have decided that we're gonna live in the city. this was a decision made long before we were even in high school, but today we were walking downtown of manhattan trying desperately to get to topshop, we couldn't help think, shit i wish we could be in college to get an apartment here. that'd be so sick..... downtown is the home of indie people :) the funniest thing happened today! so she and i went into marc by marc jacobs and i was trying on a ring, (look above). i love it, but i couldn't get it off my finger so i just walked out with it hahahah. i did buy a pencil case and a key chain for my keys there. hahah whatever, it was 9 dollars :)

hey guys, i'm so sorry its been so long! i do have some reallly good news though :) i got 2ND PLACE IN MY NATIONAL TOURNAMENT!!! haha i'm so happy :) Dallas was kinda scary, but you know, i think we were actually in the bad part of town cause it seemed like everyone was high or something... i also noticed that there was a certain point that it was the good area, so there was kind of a barrier? anyway, dallas isn't that fun to visit, except i did meet up with my mom's cousin. i dont know what to call him. my 2nd cousin? my 2nd cousin 1st removed? i have no idea, but he has the two cutest little children haha. yeah anyway so when i got back i just studied for sat shit cause you know, thats what we high schoolers *cough* asians *cough* do. sucks, but whatever. i've been in the city everyday the past week besides friday... crazy don't you think? saturday finallly came, and my friend and i went to MOMA (the Museum of Modern Art) to see the tim burton exhibition, but it was sold out. i had already seen it but i wanted to see the masterpieces again you know? eh whatever. but i did get to see this other exhibition by marina abromavic. she uses her body as part of her art. incredibly interesting. omygod, there was this one "door"? basically it was a doorway except there was a naked woman and a naked man standing facing each other. the point of it was that you have to pass through it and the artist was like, who are you going to face? cause you have to slide sideways. it was really interesting and i did pass through :) facing the girl haha. i was prettty nervous... as expected. anyway that was the last of my weekend. had a great spring break and i can't wait for summmer and nice hot weather.

im so sorry for the lack of posts recently! this spring break has been pretty crazy, in a good way of course :) so basically i went out with a guy friend as friends? and we had dinner and watched alice in wonderland.... now that was a disappointment but i digress. i'll ramble on and on about that movie later. so after the movie we just drove around my neighborhood looking at really nice houses in my area and then we got to my house and then as i was about to leave, he asked me to be his girlfriend :) hahaha so yes i have a boyfriend now and he's been taking a lot of my time, which i don't mind at all, but this sort of explains the lack of posts. yesterday! okay so my first official day of spring break was pretty fun. my friend came over and we made HOMEMADE PANCAKES. okay you see, im not the best baker or the best cook in the entire world, but this was a huge feat for the both of us. and we did make it... but it came out a bit salty so i had to throw a lot away.

oh and also! i have fencing nationals coming up in dallas! ah wish me luck :) i'll be gone on thursday and back on monday but i'll post something sometime before monday.
